Manchester United Tables £30m Bid For World Cup Star

Manchester United are closely monitoring the events surrounding Colombian international Juan Caudrado. According to reports from Daily Express, United are already lining up a £30million bid to acquire the Fiorentina winger. Caudrado who had for long enjoyed the admiration of Louis Van Gaal was largely tipped to exit the Italian club this summer, but for reasons best known to him, the United boss decided to bid his time.

In a bid to revitalize the team that finished in an agonizing 7th position last term, United had been flexing their financial muscles which has resulted in the acquisition of teenage sensation Luke Shaw, along with Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Anders Herrera and also the British transfer record signing, Di Maria. While appraising his team before the commencement of this season, the Manchester United manager itemized the urgent need of world class wingers who can help the club back to the Champions league cliche.

The level of quality that Cuadrado can bring to Old Trafford is amazing as the 26 year old is comfortable when deployed on the right flank or on either of the flanks. However, a class-act of his caliber  cannot go unnoticed as Spanish giants, Barcelona are also eager to add him to their ranks. The absence of continental engagements at United can indeed prove to be a stumbling block in this deal but considering the number of seasoned players who have sacrificed Champions League action to adorn the Chevrolet crested shirt, hopes are beginning to rise at Manchester.

With the exit of Luis Nani and Danny Welbeck, United are kind of short on the right and have had to depend on Rafael to make bustling runs down the flank. David Moyes had tried Januzaj on the flanks last season but if United are interested in some continental football next season, then they cannot rely solely on the youth.

Come January, they should move on Juan and make sure they snap him up or who wouldn’t relish such a combination that he will provide when paired with Di Maria and Rooney?
