ALMOST DONE – £75,000-A-Week Arsenal Target AGREES Personal Terms With Club

Arsene Wenger has been dealt yet another blow as Arsenal target Edin Dzeko agreed personal terms with Roma but the transfer fee is still yet to be agreed between the two clubs. The Manchester City striker was reportedly favoured to make a switch to Arsenal due to his preference to stay in Premier league but as things stand the 29 year old would be plying his trade in Italy next season as his deal edges closer to completion soon.

The 29 year old fell down in pecking order at Manchester City due to the presence of Sergio Aguero and the arrival of Ivorian striker Wilfred Bony. The Bosnian player did not have the best of seasons last year as he scored just 6 goals in 32 appearances.

As an Arsenal fan I believe missing out on Dzeko is a blessing rather than a curse and I am sure Arsene Wenger realized it too that is why he did not step up his interests to sign the 29 year old. For years we the fans have complained about needing a big game striker to challenge for a major silverware. Edin Dzeko can be considered as a different version of Oliver Giroud and cannot be our big game striker.

Undeniably Dzeko is talented, he is a very good target man and a clinical finisher but just like Giroud the Bosnian striker chokes in important matches and Arsenal cannot afford to have two of such strikers in the team. If we are going to get a striker, it should someone that can make an outstanding impact like Sanchez did which is why I believe Arsene Wenger pulled out of the race to sign Dzeko in order to set his sights on a top quality striker. Lewandoski and Benzema have been linked to Arsenal all summer and it is with great hope I believe that Arsene Wenger stopped pursuing Edin Dzeko in order to bring one out of the two aforementioned strikers to Arsenal.
