Almost Done – Arsenal COMPLETE £24.1m Signing, Will Annoyed Louis Van Gaal

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Morgan Schneiderlin for £24.1m, according to a Metro reporter. The Southampton midfielder has been linked with the gunners for quite of number of seasons without a deal materializing.
Schneiderlin is a French professional footballer who plies his trade as a midfielder. He began his career with local team RC Strasbourb in France before joining Southampton in June 2008. He has since become a regular in the starting lineup, making over 250 appearances with 16 goals to his credit.
For a midfielder of his caliber, I am of the opinion that he would be a good signing for the gunners, and would give Francis Coquelin good competition for the midfield enforcer role; if not even overthrow him from the starting line-up, as he has been injury free (relatively) compared to other players that play similar roles, which is a welcome development; and also the asking price should not be a problem, as he is worth every penny.

However, the only issue I foresee is the fact that it seems Arsene is not looking to address the particularly urgent needs of the team, which is the defence; and signing Schneiderlin might more or less make us believe we have improved the team, while all we did was add to the abundance of options we have in the midfield, while yet remaining thin in the defence.
That said, if at all any midfielder should be signed, it should be a world class type; say in the mould of the Samir Khediras and Arturo Vidals of this world.
