Antoine Griezmann Finally On The Way To Chelsea? The Latest Development

Chelsea-target, Antoine Griezmann may just get out of reach for the Blues as he could leave the Vicente Calderon in few months’ time. But he won’t be coming anyway near the Stamford bridge or England, as he will likely just move within the city of Madrid as the Los Blancos are now interested in luring the player to the Bernabeu.

Leaving Chelsea with no chance of getting the 24 year-old who was top on the Blues’ transfer-target list during Summer. Mourinho was keen on getting the France international forward prior to the end of the last transfer window, and he was banking on the influence of Jorge Mendes, an agent both coach and player share to force a move through. But Atletico Madrid wouldn’t have any of it as they held on to their most valuable player.

Griezmann was the 3rd-joint highest goal scorer in the La Liga last season, and currently has 3 goals and 3 assists to his name in 7 League games. He has 6 goals for the national team since making his debut for Les Bleus last year, and was part of a great striking pair that led France to successive victories during the break.

Benzema being the other half of that pair, and Real Madrid’s handler, Rafa Benitez has expressed his desires to have Griezmann join his side so as to continue his chemistry with Benzema on international level at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez is keen on getting the former Real Sociedad forward and has placed him as a high priority. Reports say “Florentino Perez has given orders to follow Griezmann”, after Real Madrid held talks with the board directors of Atletico earlier in the week. Griezmann remains a transfer target of most top clubs, with EPL duo of United and Arsenal also interested in securing his services. With Madrid’s interest in the goal poacher, it is safe to say Chelsea have no chances any longer.
