Arsenal Transfer News – £140,000-A-Week Set For January Transfer

Spanish giants Barcelona have been thrown into a state of unrest with the recent injury suffered by Rafinha  and according to reports, the Catalans will be pushing for a new winger in the winter transfer window to serve as a replacement for Rafinha.  Barcelona have already sold Spanish winger Pedro Rodriguez and Adama Traore to both Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively which leaves them limited in their winger options.

Brazilian International Rafinha was subject of an ACL injury earlier this week. Rafinha could not see out Barcelona’s Champions League match against Roma as he was forced to exit the match due to torn ACL. The ACL injury is one of the most dreaded injuries in football and has been known to ruin a lot of footballers career. Players who suffer from this kind of injury often take a long recovery period and Rafinha is no exception.

The 22 year old faces an extremely low possibility of featuring for Barcelona again this season which leaves Barcelona no choice but to seek a cover-up replacement. The Catalans will be looking to do business as soon as possible when their transfer ban is lifted on the 1st of January.

Barcelona have already identified possible targets to make up for the loss of Rafinha and according to reports, Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is among the targets considered to be in the running to serve as a replacement for Rafinha. The English International just recently penned down a new four-year contract worth £140,000-a-week this summer which makes a move to Camp Nou less likely. The 26 year old has finally been granted his wish of playing as a central striker by Arsene Wenger in Arsenal’s last two Premier League matches and will be looking to make the most out of his new found role.
