Arsenal have in the last three years been constantly linked to the signing of many wingers and attackers. This current transfer window, the gunners have been linked to the signing of wingers such as Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerrick Abumeyang among others.
I for one was thinking Wenger will go for Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri especially as it seems the player is available on the cheap and let’s be honest, he is a quality player despite not playing regularly for Bayern Munich.
However, the young Switzerland international attacker has signed for Stoke City. The medical was reportedly done yesterday and the deal has been announced. He was given the jersey number 22 by Stoke City which has now gone on to become Stoke’s best ever shirt sale.
Accoridng to reports, Shaqiri’s number 22 printed shirt has been the shirt ordered the most in the history of Stoke City. That shows how much impact the signing is already having on Stoke City even without he kicking a ball.
Although Arsenal is head and shoulder above Stoke City and there is no chance Shaqiri would have become Arsenal’s highest in terms of shirt sales but I for once think the gunners have missed a trick to get a quality player on the cheap.
