The Blues are obviously reveling in the atmosphere of low confidence after a calamitous start to their title defence season. In previous seasons for Chelsea, matches as today’s will be more like a walk over but ironically, there is no clear favourite against the Potters this evening.
Some of Chelsea’s prowes are a result of Mourinho’s tactical blunders but the players cannot be completely exonerated from Chelsea’s shambolic start.
Hazard, Fabregas, Ivanovic and even Begovic have been fingered as part of Chelsea’s problem and so, this is how we expect Chelsea to line up against stoke City.
Left with no choice, Begovic will be retained in goal for the Blues but him and the defence of Chelsea have been relatively poor.
Ahead of the Britannia Stadium trip, Ivanovic was certified fit for the match but he will be remanded in to the bench. We expect Baba and Azpilicueta will be the full backs.
At the heart of defence, Terry and Zouma is our favourite to start. Cahill’s partnership with any of the aforementioned duo isn’t working well
Arguably the best anchor man of the EPL, Matic should retain his place and Ramires should be played along him to tighten up the middle of the pack for Chelsea. Despite Fabregas’ dip in form, he is the most creative player in Chelsea and his passes might come handy.
Mourinho must pick strong players for the Stoke game. Hazard and Willian’s power must be brought to bare on the flanks and they will be led by Costa in the attack.
