Chelsea have been urged to pursue Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale instead of Barcelona’s Pedro. Craig Burley a former Chelsea Midfielder feels the Premier League Champions should be going for players who can improve quality of their first team and he expressed concern over Pedro’s role.
Reports has it that Chelsea’s £22 million Pounds move for Pedro is on hold until the conclusion of the Presidential Election (The Independent). The Blues who achieved a Domestic Double last term, are closing in on a deal for the Spanish Forward who has a Release Clause of £22 million Pounds in his New Contract. But Burley feels Chelsea should cancel the deal and instead sign Players who would improve the quality of the team and feels Pedro won’t improve the current Chelsea squad.
Burley said, “if you are going to sign a player who can improve this Chelsea squad, then you have to sign very good player to come in and bolster the team, you have to look at the caliber of players like Gareth Bale”.
Pedro has dropped down the pecking order at Barcelona and many thought he would be sold in the Summer.
Gareth Bale on the other hand also had a bad second Season at Madrid and report s few months ago emerged that Bale felt isolated at Madrid and that made his Agent claim that every Top Club wants his signature (talksport.com). According to reports Chelsea and Manchester United are just two of a host of Teams after Gareth Bale of Madrid.
