One of Chelsea’s promising youngster, Tomas Kalas, is set to extend his loan deal with Middlesbrough as the club has included him in their pre-season tour to Marbella, though no official word has been made by the current EPL champions.
However, Boro’s official website has gone ahead to include the player among the list of players set to go out on pre-season tour to Marbella. However, a statement on the club’s official website says Kalas has been given special dispensation from Chelsea to join them. Perhaps, it signals that a deal to make him remain at the Championship side is in the offing or has already being agreed.
However, Gazette Live has confirmed on their website that the player has already being signed by Middlesbrough, despite no official statement being issued by both clubs.
22-year old Kalas is a versatile player, who is able to play at both the right-back and centre-back positions. His four-month loan spell at Middlesbrough early this year left a remarkable impression on the mind of Aitor Karanka as well as the fans of the club. However, the Czech Republic defender chose to remain and train at the club after his loan spell expired; perhaps, and may have warmed his way into the hearts of both management and fans of the club.
He was a key member of his country’s team to the last UEFA Under-21 European Championships. He is definitely one for the future, especially when you consider his ability to play in two key positions in the defence.
