Chelsea On The VERGE Of Agreeing For £25m Star, Will Earn £80,000-A-Week

EPL Champions, Chelsea are set to give a pay rise to Brazilian midfielder, Ramires. The player will get a £20,000-a-week pay rise as Juventus ponder Pogba’s replacement according to the express.

The Serie A Champions are set to be without Paul Pogba next season as a host of European top clubs are looking to add him to their team ahead of next campaign. The Frenchman, 22, who is often compared with former French international Patrick Vieira is highly wanted by Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid. Juventus have, however, earmarked Ramires as his probable  replacement.

“Ramires, 28, is reportedly seen by Juventus as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba, who is set to leave the club this summer”(Express). In the same vein, Chelsea’s Oscar was talked about as Pogba’s possible replacement but The EPL Champions will reportedly do the deal only if it will involve a swap deal plus cash for the Frenchman coming to Stamford Bridge.

According to the Standard, Chelsea will offer the Brazilian a new five year deal worth £80,000 per week. Although Pogba is valued around £70 million by his club, the EPL club are also in the running to sign the long-legged Frenchman, but will “tie down” Ramires first in order not to lose on two fronts.

The former Benfica midfielder started only 17 games for The Blues last season due to injury, as well as the brilliant forms of Matic and Fabregas. He is one of the lowest-earning first-team players at Chelsea, along with the likes of Cesar Azplicueta and Gary Cahill.

Pogba, on the other hand joined Juventus for free from Man United in 2012, and has made a total of 89 appearances and scored 20 goals for the club. He also had a fantastic 2014-2015 season for the Old Lady, winning the Serie A and the Copa Italia titles and scoring crucial goals. He also got to the Champions League final but lost out with his team to Barcelona.
