Chelsea To ANNOUNCE Transfer Of 6ft 2in CB In Days, Will Annoy Liverpool Fans

Chelsea’s 19-year-old Danish international defender, Andreas Christensen will soon join Borussia Monchengladbach on a season long loan deal, according to reports. The defender who was signed by Chelsea in February, 2012 has failed to cement a starting spot in the Chelsea first team despite making his senior debut for the Blues in an English Premier League match against Sunderland in May. He was thought to be on the way to Liverpool but it now seem Mourinho has decided a move away from the premier league is best bet.

Christensen, who won the UEFA Youth League with the Chelsea Under 19 team in April despite scoring an own goal in the 3-2 win is one of the highly-regarded young defenders by Blues boss, Jose Mourinho. In the final match of the League cup won by Chelsea, he earned words of praises from Jose, as he described him as man of the match because he played well against Shrewsbury in the fourth round.

Monchengladbach previously loaned Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Chelsea’s talisman, Eden Hazard, who was also named the EPL player of the year this past season. The loan move has, however, been made permanent. According to Daily Star, the deal will be completed in the coming days. Liverpool is also a club keeping tabs on his development.

With Chelsea’s centre back pairing of John Terry and Gary Cahill impressing and helping them to a double of the EPL title and the League cup last season, Christensen need to be loaned out in order to garner more experience and playing time.

“The consistency of the England pair played a large role in Christensen’s lack of game time for the Blues. At just 19 years, however, a loan move would benefit the Danish defender”.
