London side are interested in Basel striker Breel Embolo, reports Metro. The 18-year-old is a hot property in the transfer market as a host of clubs are interested in his services. The Blues will have to compete with the Premier League rivals Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal for the signature of the youth prodigy.
European giants Juventus and Barcelona are also said to be interested in the player.
According to the report, the Premier League champions have made Embolo their first choice to replace Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao, if either of them leaves Stamford Bridge in January. Falcao has been struggling with an injury whereas Remy has been linked with a loan move to a number of clubs.
Embolo, at the age of 18, has scored 16 league goals in 47 appearances for the Swiss club. The Swiss international is expected to command a minimum transfer fee of £20m.
