Deal agreed? £20m deal with Juventus reportedly done for this star midfielder

Antonio will want to bring in big changes in preparation for next season, as this year’s misfiring team has failed to make the grade. Most are talking about which players will be coming to West London in big money deals, but we shouldn’t forget that some of the current crop of players will be heading in the opposite direction.

Nemanja Matic has not played with the same tempo and skill as he used the season before and his partnership with Fabregas or Mikel in a 2 man defensive midfield has been called into question. Juventus are said to be interested in acquiring his services.

Chelsea sign Matic as a youngster but he never quite made the development from youth to senior player, until he joined Benfica for a small fee and became one of Europe’s top defensive midfielders. Chelsea re-signed the player in a £21million deal.

He had a storming first season and became the player that no attacker wanted to come up against. He flopped in his second year and many people now think that Matic will be sold to Juventus for around the same fee they paid for him.
