Emenalo Flew To Spain, Is Griezmann Joining Chelsea Finally? The Latest Development

One player who many Chelsea fans will be delighted to see their club sign is Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann. Since the end of the season in late May, the young French Striker has always been linked with a move to Chelsea with some reports even going as far as claiming Chelsea sporting director Michael Emenalo had flown to speak to have discussions with Atletico Madrid with a view of hashing out a deal for Chelsea to sign Griezmann.

However, if newer news reports from English media outlet daily express, Griezmann has agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid which has led to an increment on his release clause which Chelsea will have to trigger if they must sign the player. According to the report by express, his £46.1 million release clause has been increased but the media outlet was mute on the new release clause.

Griezmann scored a total of 27 goals and created 5 assists in all competition last season. A stats that is extremely good for a player playing mainly behind the striker and not as the main striker.

Although if the report of his release clause been increased is true, it will be bad news for Chelsea but if not more than £50 million, it will be a no brainer for Chelsea. Griezmann is the sort of player Chelsea can do with right now.

Imagine a front three that consists of Hazard, Costa and Griezmann?
