GOOD NEWS – Arsenal Plan January Move For £20m Rated EPL Striker

Barely a week after the closure of the transfer window, a revelation concerning a last minute transfer made by Arsenal has come to light. According to reports from Spain, the Gunners launched a last ditch attempt to sign Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez during the closing stages of the transfer window.

The 24 year old Algerian scored a brace in Leicester City’s season opener against Sunderland and has gone on to bag  4 goals in just 4 Premier League matches which can be regarded as a remarkable start to the season. According to the reports from Spain, it is understood that the 24 year old sensational start to the season was enough to attract the attention of Arsene Wenger. Arsenal have scored just 3 goals so far in the Premier League while Riyad Mahrez has 4 goals, which is one higher than the whole Gunners team combined.

Nevertheless, the Gunners were unfortunately not successful in their efforts to bring the 24 year old despite Arsene Wenger’s determination to sign Mahrez. The failure to land Riyad Mahrez further adds more disappointment to Arsenal’s transfer window, as the Gunners remain the only team in the Premier League that did not sign an outfield player. However, Wenger has a good opportunity of remedying the situation by signing the striker in January with reports already claiming Wenger has decided to start negotiation on time for the Algerian.

Arsenal supporters will surely feel left behind by other teams in the League due to the failure to strengthen the squad which other teams did. The Gunners fans even went as far as calling for Arsene Wenger’s head in their bid to vent their frustration. Nevertheless, Arsenal fans will have no other option than to put their faith in the current squad they possess at the moment. However, Arsene Wenger might later rue his failed pursuit of Riyad Mahrez who has been very instrumental to Leicester City’s unbeaten run this season.
