Griezmann, Koke & One Other La Liga Star To Join Chelsea In January As Abramovich Endorses Deal

As claimed by Spanish broadsheet AS, reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are weighing up offers for Atletico Madrid trio of Antoine Griezmann, Koke and Diego Godin when the transfer window reopens in January.

The two clubs have been doing series of businesses in the past and could now find another agreement regarding the stunning triple transfer in the New Year.

A couple of days ago, news filtered in that Chelsea have earmarked Atleti boss Diego Simeone as Jose Mourinho’s replacement when the Portuguese leaves Stamford Bridge, which could happen sooner rather than later if the Blues do not get back to winning ways.

Now Chelsea are looking to launch a January raid on the aforementioned Atletico Madrid stars.

The trio are regular starters for Diego Simeone’s side and would command a hefty fee if they are to leave the Vicente Calderon.

Griezmann was one of the Blues’ target during this past window, but Mourinho opted to sign Pedro Rodriguez instead and the French player – who bagged 22 goals in 37 appearances for the Rojiblancos last season – has been in brilliant form once again this term. Should Chelsea sign him, he would bring more flair and pace to the Blues’ attack and his versatility would no doubt benefit Mourinho’s team.

Godin’s arrival could also help solve the Blues’ problem in defence, as what used to be their strength in recent seasons has been uncharacteristically fragile this term. The experience of the Uruguayan defender could be exactly what Chelsea need.

Mourinho is reportedly unhappy with his midfielders and should he succeed in luring Koke to Stamford Bridge, he would be bringing in a top notch midfield maestro. The Spaniard can break up play and also set the attack up for goals with his brilliant accurate passes.
