Griezmann told friends: I want to play in Premier League, Chelsea offering £40m

Chelsea is the frontrunner to sign the Aletico Madrid attacker this summer, with English rivals Manchester United also interested. The £40million-rated star, who has had a stellar season so far, is reportedly ready to listen to offers from England, as he seeks his next challenge.

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen to pair him with his Brazilian striker, Diego Costa up front in attack to lead Chelsea from the front. However, Aletico Madrid is unwilling to sell their prized asset, unless Chelsea allows Costa to move the opposite direction back to his old club.

This did not stop the 24 year old Frenchman from telling his close friends that he fancy a move to Premier League, to seek a new challenge.

The versatile attacker, although naturally left-footed, can play in either wide positions or centrally as a No.10. His relentless energy and passion has caught the attention of Manchester United as well.

It is reported that they see him as a replacement for Memphis Depay, who struggled with injuries and form this season after moving from Holland last summer.
His experience playing for Aletico Madrid in the Champions League is viewed as vital experience for a young Louis Van Gaal side, which is lacking experienced leaders in his current squad.

But with Chelsea ready to put up a lucrative contract for the star attacker to make up for the fact that they will not be playing in the Champions League next season, it remains to be seen which club he will choose to sign for come this summer.
