Yesterday, there was a report about Arturo Vidal set to sign for Arsenal after Juventus after Arsenal had a bid of £21 million accepted by Juve. Arsenal fans were of course happy. A report today in the Sun has dashed their hopes, as a source denied such a deal and also alleged that the London club were never interested in the midfielder.
This will of course dampen the mood of Arsenal fans who would have seen Arturo Vidal as a better alternative to Morgan Schneiderlin who is reported to be on his way to Manchester United. Since their FA cup win, reports have linked the club to various big name midfielders with Arsenal looking to go one better by challenging for the premier league title next season. Arturo Vidal would have been a perfect fit at Arsenal where he would have linked up with fellow country man Alexis Sanchez.
Vidal alongside Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo were phenomenal for the Old Lady winning the serie title and going all the way to the champions league finals before losing out to a rampaging and in form Barcelona. The Chilean is currently representing his country at the Copa America being hosted by his country and will be hoping to do his country proud and win the cup.
