Jorge Mendes Arrives Manchester, To Sort Out £25m Signing For United This Week

After not experiencing much breakthrough in the pursuit of Nicolas Gaitan, Manchester United have reportedly brought in renowned Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes to help secure the deal. According to reports from Portugal, the ‘super-agent’ as he is called has been called upon to resolve the £24.5 million pound s transfer of Nicolas Gaitan from Benfica to Manchester United.

Mendes who is also on the payroll of the likes of Pepe, Cristano Ronaldo, Falcao, James Rodriguez, Di Maria is said to be a very good handler of these situations. Nicolas Gaitan has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United earlier this transfer window, with reports stating the Argentine was on the verge of joining United just few days after the exit of Angel Di Maria.

However it is understood that Benfica have been the stumbling block in the transfer and Louis Van Gaal has  had no other option than to call on Jorge Mendes to act as a negotiator between the two clubs in a bid to resolve the transfer saga.

The Portuguese agent was instrumental in Nicolas Otamendi’s move to Manchester City, Costa to Chelsea , Di Maria and Falcao to Manchester United, therefore this Nicolas Gaitan case should be a walk in the park for the Portuguese. If Manchester United finally wraps up the signing of Nicolas Gaitan from Manchester United, it is expected that the Argentine will be drafted on the left wing and Dutch forward Memphis Depay will be shifted to a more central role as Louis Van Gaal needs more pace and creativity in his attack.
