Manchester United Transfer Rumours

LVG to spend budget on world class striker duo and to beat Wenger in transfer chase for talented defender

Man Utd have turned their attention to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to Daily Telegraph. United have failed to find any sort of attacking rhythm in the current season and reports suggest that Louis Van Gaal is now looking at the Belgian striker as a fix to his problems. United bowed out of Champions League after a defeat to Wolfsburg in the midweek, and if reports are to be believed, the club board has given a target of top three league finish to Louis Van Gaal.

Lukaku scored 14 goals in 19 appearances so far this season.
Dutch paper has previously reported that the Dutch tactician will be given a precise budget of £72.4m, plus £14.5m in wages, for the upcoming transfer window and he is looking to bring a recognized striker to Old Trafford from the allocated funds.

Telegraph also reports that the Red Devils are also interested in Fulham youngster Moussa Dembele. The 19-year-old has scored nine goals for the Cottagers this season and has a long list of admirers. It’s reported that the likes of Tottenham, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Feyenoord, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are all keeping tabs on the France U-20 international.

Dembele signed for the London club from PSG in 2012 but has exploded onto the scene this season only. His current deal with the Championship expires in the summer, and he has the offer of a four-year contract on the table from the Cottagers.

But Red Devils also need a strong left-back as Luke Shaw is injured. Who LVG picked? Read on page 2.

The Red Devils are also short on a genuine left-back option as Luke Shaw recovers from a long-term injury. Daily Mail reports that Louis Van Gaal has recognized Marseille left-back Benjamin Mendy as a solution to his left-back problems and want to sign the 21-year old in the January Transfer window.

According to the reports, Man Utd scouts were present in the stands to watch the player as Marseille traveled to Rennes last Thursday. The U-21 France international has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past.
