Manchester United Could Complete Swap Deal Worth £50m

The summer transfer window witnessed the arrival of one of the hottest strikers in Europe arrive Old Trafford in a bizarre transfer deal that left a lot of football followers mouth agape. Some 24 hours before the deadline, Real Madrid seems to be the favored destination of Radamel Falcao. But on the transfer deadline day, everything changed and instead of Spain, the aircraft flying Falcao took him all the way to the AON Training Complex where the Colombian international put pen to paper.

The initial report suggested that a five year deal had been agreed by the two clubs with the fee in the region of GBP50 million agreed on. Subsequent reports claimed that it was actually a loan deal worth GBP6 million with an option to buy at the end of the season. But the inevitable had happened, Manchester United added a world class striker to their array of newcomers.

Some football analysts were quick to not that the reason for a loan deal being preferred was as a result of the UEFA Financial Fairplay rules that has been wielding its iron rod all around major Leagues in Europe recently.

Monaco has recently come out specifically to let Manchester United know what they desire in return for letting them have Falcao on a permanent basis. That thing is nothing other than Rooney according to reports. The French principality has been on the trail of Wayne Rooney for some time now but Manchester United has always made all prospecting suitors know that the mercurial forward is not available for sale at any fee whatsoever. Manchester City tried, Real Madrid tried, and recently Chelsea too tried but all were met with stiff resistance from the Old Trafford outfit. Now, Monaco are toeing that line too, trying to lure Manchester United into parting with their hero. And the bait being used to trap Manchester United to submission is actually a source of amazement. Radamel Falcao has not used up to 13 months with Monaco but one way or the other; it seems things are not going good between the player and his employers.

Louis Van Gaal recently appointed Wayne Rooney as the long term captain of the Red Devils. The publicity that followed the announcement of the former Everton wonderkid as the captain generated so much noise that it took another pronouncement of such magnitude to die it down. This time, it was a similar announcement, with Roy Hodgson appointing Rooney as the new captain of the Three Lions.

With the recent declaration by Monaco that they would want Rooney involved in any deal that would see Falcao becoming a permanent Manchester United player. The Colombian himself seems to be enjoying his new found abode. The Spanish community been created at Old Trafford is really proving to be a source of excitement for Falcao and it is remotely possible that the striker would do his best to force his old employers into agreeing to let him stay in England whether or not Manchester United agree to let Rooney go the other way.
