Manchester United To Complete British Record Signing Of £300,000-A-Week Star

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal believes Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale is gettable, and is increasingly confident he can lure him to Old Trafford this summer, according to reports.

The Dutch manager who Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho hijacked Pedro from under his noses defender his club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward today in regards to the Pedro deal.

“No-one should doubt Ed Woodward,” van Gaal told reporters.

“I have the idea you want to separate Ed Woodward with me. Never. Never, because everyday I am updated by him and I trust him.”

Van Gaal has refused to be drawn into discussions as to why Pedro’s move failed to materialise and has now focused on Bale.

The Metro says Bale is set to become United’s priority target for the rest of the summer transfer window after Louis van Gaal told friends he believes he can seal the deal to bring in the Wales international star.

The former Netherlands boss stated after Angel Di Maria’s sale to PSG that the club needed pace in the attack, and with Pedro out of their grasp, Bale can also do what LVG wants. Metro cites the Daily Mail who says van Gaal is focusing his attention on Bale and he believes he can persuade him to continue his football at Old Trafford.

The aforementioned source suggests United are likely to make a bid for Bale before the transfer window shuts, but their chance of signing the Welshman appears slim.

Meanwhile, van Gaal and the United hierarchy are still maintaining a positive belief that Bayern Munich goal poacher Thomas Muller will join them this summer, with the player reportedly disclosing to his acquaintances that he fancies an Old Trafford move.

The Red Devils have also returned to the South Coast with a bid of £20m to lure Southampton star Sadio Mane away from the St. Mary’s. With just eleven days left in the window, the 20-time Premier League champions will have to be swift in their transfer activities.
