Medical Done, Arsenal La Liga Target Set To Sign, Announcement Tomorrow
According to reports, Barcelona forward, Adama Traore is set to join Aston Villa on a three-year deal for a fee of around £7 million. Despite being touted to light up the La Liga this season, reports confirm that the 19 year-old has, in the wake of the arrivals of Luis Suarez and Neymar- who are direct competitors for a starting shirt, alongside Lionel Messi; opted to depart the Nou Camp in search of regular first-team football.
Liverpool were mooted as his potential destination; and reports even stated expressly that Reds’ Coach Brendan Rodgers was already in talks with the Spanish club and was closing in on a deal for him. Arsene Wenger, ever an admirer of young, exciting talents- especially those from the Spanish club’s reputable youth academy, was also reportedly keen on landing his services in order to boost his attacking line-up, following the perceived incompetence of Yaya Sanogo.
However, with Tim Sherwood set to complete his acquisition at Villa Park today, it appears that Wenger has missed out on the opportunity to sign a trusted winger and forward. As it stands, it appears there is little or nothing Wenger can do to leapfrog the Villains. The French manager indeed knows it would be a big miss, as the club’s academy- from which Traore is coming- is highly rated all over the world, as it has produced the likes of Cesc Fabregas and a host of other exciting stars in the world of football today.
