The four time Premier champions are on the verge of breaking the British transfer record in a bid to land France international Paul Pogba for £72m from the Turin Giant, juventus. This is following Abrahamovic’s sanction of a second bid as quoted.

With just six days left to the close of this year’s summer transfer window, Chelsea have chosen to remain resolute in pursuit of their long term target Paul Pogba and are likely to make Stones the most expensive EPL defender with a £40m bid.

According to the Daily Express, Abrahamovic had insisted that he wouldn’t offer more than £60m for the maverick defensive midfielder but Mourinho is desperate to add the 22-year France international to his team. Nonetheless, Chelsea are now willing to make a final bid for of £72m for the midfielder.

It is also believed that, Should Juve refuse to accept Chelsea’s offer, they will try to work on a deal for next summer but will likely face competition from Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Chelsea had their opening and second bid for Everton defender rejected. However, they are set to offer around £40m for the player in a fourth bid within this closing stage of the transfer window. The opening league matches of Chelsea have been characterized with poor defending and John Stones has been tipped to be an instant starter and long  term replacement  for the ageing John Terry.

Chelsea have already spent £42m on Pedro and Rahman and will exceed £150 million mark if they succeed in Pogba and Stones deal.
