Roman Abramovich To Sanction Deal For 11 Goals In 15 Games Arsenal Target

Chelsea’s display so far this term has been dreadful and their title defence is already in tatters, talk more of a top four hope. And the club’s officials are seriously considering their options in the January transfer window, as per Fichajes. Now, the west London club are looking to recruit some suitable players needed to reignite their season, with it looking like the Blues need to inject new blood into every department of the team.

Nevertheless, Chelsea are targeting a quality striker when the transfer window reopens in January – with the likes of Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao all struggling to hit form for Jose Mourinho’s side this season. The club’s top brass now want to hand a new striker to Mourinho in January and, the Metro claims Napoli goal poacher Gonzalo Higuain is at the top of their wanted list.

Higuain has been in superb form for the Naples outfit this term, bagging 11 goals in 15 appearances and helping the club to four straight victories in the Europa League this season. His brilliant form has also alerted interest from the Gunners, who were linked with a late minute swoop for the former Real Madrid striker in the summer. However, Chelsea are more well-placed to land the Argentine due to his relationship with Mourinho. The Portuguese boss coached Higuain at the Santiago Bernabeu and the two enjoyed a good working relationship.

Higuain could be what Chelsea needs to get their season back on track, as the Blues’ first choice striker Diego Costa continues his goading antics on the field rather than goalscoring.
