Welcome To Old Trafford – Manchester United To COMPLETE 42m Deal This Week

It’s a transfer that has rumbled on all summer – but  Manchester United’s pursuit of signing Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has taken another twist. United who have are bankrolled by a very lucrative sponsorship with Adidas, have been linked and made purchased world class talent since Dutch coach Luis Van Gaal’s arrival to United last year.

The transfer of Ramos though has been less than straightforward. The former Sevilla man has been a loyal servant to Real – but the perceived lack of a new bumper contract has lead many observers to believe that Sergio Ramos could be heading to Manchester.

Ramos who is a world cup winner and a champions league winner, has achieved everything in the world game. Great in the air and a brilliant leader of men, Ramos would be the ideal man to coming to a United defence that looked shaky through most of the season.

One of the main saviours for United’s defence was goalkeeper David Degea. Edge who previously played for arch rivals Atletico seems keen on a move to Real Madrid who have been courting him all summer.

Any potential move would depend on United being able to sign Ramos. The Old Trafford club did have a £29 million bid turned down last month and were told to raise their offer. A subsequent £42 million bid was reportedly put on the table, officials at United believe they will be able to get their man. According to reports, the deal should be done this week barring any last minute change of heart by the player himself.
