Welcome To Stamford Bridge – Chelsea On The VERGE Of Signing £75,000-A-Week Star

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho is weighing up moves to sign Tottenham Belgium midfielder, Musa Dembele.

The Blues are believed to be in the market for a central midfielder, and the Belgian has been seen as a possible target for the defending EPL champions, who are poised to defend their title next season. With Mikel Obi rumoured to be on his way out of the club, the manager is looking for a cover for Nemanja Matic.

The Sun on Sunday puts the player’s transfer value at £12 million, which is significantly lower than what a player like Axel Witsel would command. Axel by the way is believed to be a transfer target for the Blues.

Since completing his move from Fulham to Spurs a couple of seasons ago, the Belgium international has failed to live up to expectations. Perhaps, his time at White Hart Lane is gradually drawing to a close, which is not a surprise considering the limited amount if time he has been afforded on the pitch in the last couple of seasons since signing for the club.

With Chelsea’s rumoured interest in his signature, if true, could just be a means of raising some more transfer fund for Mauricio Pochettino, who has some signings of his to do before the window draws to a close.

It has not yet been disclosed if Dembele, who lost his place Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason in the two central midfield positions last season, is bent on staying on to fight for his place in the team or is in support of a move out of the Lane in the summer.
