Wenger Confirms Arsenal Are Trying To Sign High Rated DM

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in Legia Warsaw youngster Krystian Bielik. The Gunners were reportedly ready to finalize a deal for the 17-year-old midfielder with a deal £1.6 million deal being discussed between the two clubs. However, reports have now emerged that Legia Warsaw are now holding for a fee close to £2.5 million for the young prodigy.

Although nothing is certain, but Arsene Wenger has now confirmed Arsenal interest in midfielder, but reiterated that the two clubs are not very close to agreeing a deal for the player. Speaking at a press conference Arsene Wenger said;

“He is a young boy that we follow, yes. We are not very close at the moment.”

The player himself has expressed his desire to play for Arsenal. He said;

“I hope that the two clubs come together and I go to London to fulfil my dreams,” Bielik was quoted as saying in Polish media.

“He [Wenger] knows that I have the skills, am determined to win and he wants to sign me as soon as possible to start working with me.”

The new Vieira?

Standing at over six-feet tall, and with an ability to accurately pepper long-balls across the field, Arsenal’s repeated interest has understandably earned Bielik comparisons with former Gunners’ captain Patrick Vieira. That isn’t where the similarities end either, with the youngster’s ability to control the pace of the game from his position in front of the back- four already standing out as a key strength.

Bielik also isn’t afraid to show his ball skills, by taking players on when no other options are available; yet he still has maturity and discipline which prevents him from getting himself into trouble.

By completing a move to the Emirates Stadium, Bielik will become the third player to transfer from Legia to Arsenal; following in the footsteps of goalkeeping pair Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski, who switched Warsaw for North London in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

Having their first two bids for the midfielder rejected, it looks as though Arsenal will have to part with around £2.5 million plus add-ons to get their man.
