Chelsea to Sign World Cup Winner for £40m from Real Madrid, Player Requested Transfer as Man Utd and Liverpool Lose Out

Chelsea have joined Man Utd and Liverpool in the pursuit of Real Madrid superstar Toni Kroos. Spanish publication Fichajes claims that Chelsea and Man Utd have both made contacts with the player’s agent and are ready to offer £40 million to secure the signing of the 26-year old.

Both clubs have been tracking the player since the news emerged that he was unhappy with the former manager Rafa Benitez. The duo have contacted the player’s agent Volker Struth and have informed him that they are ready to offer a deal worth more than £4.5m per annum to the World Cup winner.

However, it’s still unclear whether the player still wants to leave Santiago Bernabeu following the arrival of Zinedine Zidane.

Previous reports have claimed that PSG and Liverpool are also interested in the player, and Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp is trying to use his German connections to lure the midfielder to Anfield.

Kroos moved to Real Madrid from Bayern Munich for approx. €25 million – €30 million transfer fee and signed a six-year deal with the club.
He has made 17 league appearances for the club and has provided six assists.
