Jonathan Calleri is reportedly very close to making the coveted switch to Stamford Bridge as the January transfer window approaches. The 22-year-old Argentina winger has had a successful season with Boca Juniors and is set for a move to Europe. Chelsea and Inter Milan have been keeping tabs on the player but he has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
Calciomercato is reporting that Chelsea are preparing a €14 million bid for Calleri and they will loan him to another Premier league team in a bid to make him familiar with the League. However, the striker has said he is ready for a move to Europe and the Blues will have to take advantage of his readiness.
Following recent rumours, Calleri addressed his future in Europe: “At the moment I don’t know anything. I read the newspapers and they have many rumours, but to me they didn’t say anything. My mind is set on playing a friendly match this Friday and then get on a vacation with my family. Six months ago I wasn’t ready to move abroad. I believe that right now, after becoming Argentinian League champion, having played more matches and playing alongside Carlos Tévez, I’m more prepared.”
Falcao has been tipped with a move away from Stamford Bridge in January following his abysmal performances in the attacking third. Should Calleri complete the move, he will be a great addition to the side and he will hopefully bring in the goals for Chelsea.
