England international and Arsenal on-loan star to Barnsley Dan Crowley has returned to the Emirates with the Gunners after a short spell with the League One side.
It was reported, by the Mirror last week, that the impressive midfield ace would be heading back to Arsenal but the club has not confirmed his arrival.
Crowley, 18, made the switch to Barnsley in the summer and made 10 appearances for The Tykes first team. The agreement was billed until January but has been cut short apparently.
He will be sorely missed by Barnsley and the Club’s manager Lee Johnson has continued to Eulogise the youngster as the future of England.
“I think that Dan’s had a fantastic time here, we’ve really enjoyed working with him. He’s probably one of the best, or the best, or most talented 18-year-olds I’ve ever seen,” he said.
“For me, it was fantastic to work with him, really enjoyed it, really appreciative to Arsenal.
“I think he had four or five really good effective games for us that showed his quality and where he could be.”
He scored an outstanding goal for Barnsley in the Capital One cup. There is no telling if he will be get playing time with Arsenal but with the current injuries bedevilling Arsene Wenger’s midfielder’s, he might get some cameos.
