Arsenal Set To FINALLY Sign A DM, But Flamini Will Leave
Turkish club side Galatasaray are currently locked in talks with Arsenal to sign French Midfielder Mathieu Flamini according to reports from Turkey. Flamini, 31 has just a year left on his existing rolling contract and lost his place in the gunners first eleven to another Frenchman Frances Couqelin last season.
Arsene Wenger wants to create room in his squad as he eyes more signings. Gala on the other hand don’t seem like they want to be upstaged by their rivals Fenerbache who have signed former gunners fan favorite Robin Van persie and Luis Nani from Manchester united so having signed Lucas Podolski from Arsenal, they want to do the double just like their rivals.
Signing Flamini will represent a major coup for the Turkish club who are about to lose Captain Felipe Melo to Brazilian giants Cruziero. But it remains to be seen which defensive midfielder Wenger will bring in as top targets Morgan Schneiderlin has joined Manchester United and Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho is out for the next three months. This means wenger will have to try and price long term target Lars Bender from Bayer Leverkusen once again to compete with Couqelin as Mikel Arteta is injury prone.
Which defensive midfielder do you think Arsenal should sign?
