Bid Accepted – Chelsea To ANNOUNCE Signing Of Arsenal Target, £25m Deal Close

Chelsea are reportedly close to securing the signing of Chile’s Copa America star, Charles Aranguiz.

Aranguiz, as per the Metro, has been given permission to leave his club, Internacional this summer after he starred at the recent Copa America hosted by his country, Chile. The reports claim a bid has been accepted from Chelsea for the Arsenal target.

The Premier League champions made a move for the midfielder over the weekend, and it has now been reported that a fee has been agreed with Internacional. The only remaining detail, however, is for Aranguiz to accept the switch with Chelsea now waiting to see if he wants to come to England.

As claimed by the aforementioned source, Marseille are also keen on the 26-year old former Colo Colo midfielder and although they can’t offer the same wages as the Blues, they can offer him more playing time.

The Daily star also revealed that Manchester City boss, Manuel Pelligrini and Director of Football Txiki Begiristain watched the player during the Copa America tournament.

Meanwhile, Internacional have put any transfer talks for the player on hold for now, as the club are in the Copa Libertadores semi-final.

Chelsea will be hoping their good relationship with the Brazilian outfit – seller of Oscar – would help them beat other rivals to Aranguiz’ signature. Blues boss, Jose Mourinho is likely to let Oscar leave for Juventus this summer if the right price comes in. John Obi Mikel has also been touted to leave Chelsea for the UAE this summer, with Besiktas also keen.

Mourinho’s interest in Aranguiz is clear, as the player is a “fighter” and a “tiger” on the field of play, which is what the Portuguese always want in his players. Real Madrid’s Isco is also a target for the EPL champions.
