The search for a prolific centre forward has taken the Gunners not only to the Spanish and German champions, the latest report making rounds in England is that the Emirates outfit have turned their attention to France and are keen on landing Ezequiel Lavezzi , this time from the French champions Paris Saint German.

Meanwhile, Lavezzi has been out a favour for club. Last season he scored eight league goals while coming off the bench in most of the matches he featured. He will no doubt, at 30, bring his experience to bear at Arsenal. It is understood that PSG will offload him if £10m is offered.

According to reports from France, Lavezzi is unhappy at PSG as he is wants to play regularly after fallen down the selection pecking order which might be totally different if he is signed by the Gunners. With the acquisition of Di Maria from Manchester United, Lavezzi would obviously not get the few playing time he managed last season. And it is thought he wants out of France with London as his most likely destination.

However, the reports also claim that PSG are willing to offer Lavezzi to Arsenal and Wenger has been wary of the player as his experience might be invaluable to the North London club.

It is understood that the Gunners have been slapped with a £13.2m for the Argentine and he currently earns £94,000-a-week at PSG.

The 30-year-old Argentina international was instrumental in his country’s world cup laurel.
