Breaking News – Everton ACCEPTS Chelsea Bid For John Stones, Announcement Imminent
If the reports doing the rounds in the English media this evening is anything to go by, Chelsea will announce the signing of John Stones by tomorrow afternoon. This is according to reports which claim Everton have finally accepted Chelsea’s £40 million bid for the player.
Three bids said to be £20 million, £26 million and £30 million was reportedly rejected by Everton for the player but Chelsea’s fourth bid which was reportedly put in after the defeat to Crystal Palace yesterday was accepted by Everton.
John Stones has been solid for Everton so far this season, he is one of the reasons why Everton have done considerably okay so far and his form this season doesn’t seem like a one off as his two previous seasons with Everton have been solid.
Should Chelsea truly sign him, he will be the ideal long term replacement for John Terry. Another great plus is that he is young and still have his best years ahead of him. At just 21 years, he still have at least 8 years of top flight football in him.
However, considering Chelsea are paying £40 million for him ( reportedly ), it is a bit of a risk as we have seen players who move from a relatively small club to a bigger club and not replicate the form for which they were bought.
