Confirmed – Abramovich Sanctioned Transfer Of £32m Very Profilic Attacker

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea prolific goal scorer and former Atletico Madrid man Diego Costa was close to returning to the La Liga with his former club despite the success with Chelsea in his first season.

Costa joined the Blues last season from the Rojiblancos in a £32-million deal and was firing goals with reckless abandon in his first few weeks with Chelsea.

Even though he ended the season as Chelsea’s top scorer, his form dropped in the January of this year and he was banjaxed with injury for the second part of last season. He ended the season with 20 goals in 26 matches for Chelsea.

Nonetheless, the reports claim Costa still has a cordial relationship with his former team mates and the Vicente Calderon’s chief executive Miguel Angel Gil. Costa met with the aforementioned Atletico Madrid chief during the summer where he said that he missed the life in Spain.

As per Mail, the close relationship Costa has with his former team mates was the major reason he thought of moving away from Chelsea.

However, should he have left Chelsea, they would have been without their number 1 forward, with Remy and Falcao to their rescue.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will host Liverpool this weekend and they will be looking to turn the tide around and series of horrendous performance that has left them in 15th position on the Premier League log.
