Finally A Striker? Manchester United Given GOLDEN Chance To Sign High Rated Striker

Manchester United have been offered the chance of signing former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato after his Brazilian club Corinthians deemed him available for sale this summer, according to reports. The Brazilian striker is available for £11m (via Telegraph) and he could be the Red Devils’ solution to their striker problem.

The above named source however revealed Pato has also been offered to Premier League champions Chelsea, but the Manchester outfit need him the most.

Pato left the San Siro in 2012 after suffering an alarming loss of form, despite making a bright start to his Serie A career. He returned to Corinthians in the Brazilian Serie A before spending last season on loan at Sao Paulo. The 25-year old burst onto the scene as a 16-year old at Internacional before making a switch to Italy, and it was at AC Milan he cupped an injury which hampered his promising career. Since then, Pato has faded into obscurity

But reports have it that it is still uncertain if United will take up the option of signing Pato who wants to leave his club this summer to kick-start his career. The Red Devils are short of firepower in attack after the exits of Robin Van Persie and Radamel Falcao and as a result, they have been scouring Europe for a top notch frontman but their efforts have not yielded a positive result so far. The 0-0 draw against Newcastle United at the weekend also highlighted the need to bring in a top striker, as Wayne Rooney fired blank again. The England international goal poacher is yet to open his goalscoring account for Louis van Gaal’s side this season.

As per the Daily Telegraph, United will rather focus on signing Southampton’s Sadio Mane who was at the Old Trafford centre on Saturday and some have suggested a transfer could be imminent. After Chelsea hijacked Pedro from the Red Devils, the 20-time Premier League Kings went ahead with a bid for Mane, and it was flatly rebuffed by the Saints.

Louis van Gaal’s side are now said to be preparing a second offer of £20m which they believe will railroad the South Coast outfit into selling their pacey forward, despite boss Ronald Koeman’s insistence that Mane will not be sold.

Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller and Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale are also on the wanted list of the Manchester club and it has been reported that van Gaal privately believed he can lure the latter to Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut in 7 days’ time.
