Laurent Koscielny Set To Start Against Watford

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal fans a piece of good news for the match against Watford on Saturday.

The 30-year-old centre-back who has undoubtedly been the best defender for Arsenal this season and even in previous seasons sustained a hamstring injury in the team’s Champions League group stage match which the team lost to Olympiacos.

Althoug the defender was not available for Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United victory, the defence held together and was able to ward off all of United’s advances but fans are of the opinion that Mertesacker needs to be replaced in the back and will no doubt be happy that the French defender is back in the squad.

Wenger said about the player that, “Koscielny has a slight chance to be back on Saturday. He has a definite test tomorrow.”

Arsenal have had a very good start to their campaign this season and Koscielny has played no small part in this good start to this point.

The Gunners have lost just two of their opening eight games this season and this shows that the Arsenal defence has held together for the club’s performances this season and the team currently occupies second spot on the English Premier League table, just two points behind League leaders Manchester City.

His return from injury will be very good news for Wenger as the 30-year-old defender has the best pass accuracy at the club this season at 91%, as well as winning an impressive 62% of his overall duels this season.
