Manchester United officials set to beat Chelsea to secure deadly La Liga striker

It seems every time Premier league transfers are concerned, Antonine Griezmann’s name appears. But this time with Manchester United who appear to have entered the race for the French star and are reportedly leading rivals, Chelsea to his signature . It appears every time their name is mentioned they are link with world – class, expensive players that are not necessarily on the move.

With a reported transfer chest of a mouth – watering  £150 million, it is no wonder United are chasing top talent. Interest from French giants Paris Saint-Germain has also increased in recent times and United will have to flex their financial muscles to sign the striker.

Manchester United are willing to dedicate a staggering £65 Million in the summer to clinch the Atletico Madrid star from any interested parties. The biggest problem becomes, will Griezmann move?

Better yet will he move from a side where he is a pivotal player. A side that challenges for the La Liga and are favourites yearly to progress to the later stages of the Champions league for a team hanging on just to finish in the top 4.

The Red Devils apparent incoming  boss Jose Mourinho is known to be a fan of the 25-year-old French striker. He pursued him while managing Chelsea and looks set to renew that interest for his new side. The Portuguese manager is known to be an admirer of versatile players such as Griezmann.

The Atletico Madrid man can play on the left wing or deployed as a striker. He is lethal in his main position as a secondary striker and the statistics are all you need to look at to know how deadly he is.  In 73 appearances with Atletico Madrid, Griezmann has netted over 40 goals. Most of these goals are crucial game – winning goals.
This season alone he has bagged 21 league goals and contributed a further 5 assist as they look to pounce on Barcelona for the La Liga title.

It seems he is a player capable of uplifting any side.  Manchester United are confident they have the edge over their rivals Chelsea for this one.  Manchester United will be hoping that their pursuit is successful.
