Manchester United Plan Mega Bid For 17 Goals In 30 Games Chelsea Target

After snapping up Bastian Schweinsteiger over the weekend, Louis Van Gaal is plotting a second raid on Bayern Munich for star striker Robert Lewandowski. Manchester United have been linked with a whole lots of Bayern stars this summer including Thomas Muller, Jerome Boateng and Arjen Robben.

The Polish striker is apparently “top of United’s wanted list” and Van Gaal is reportedly “ready to break the £300m barrier” with his new signings. A full international for Poland since 2008, Lewandowski has earned over 65 caps and was a member of their team at Euro 2012. With 26 goals, he ranks seventh among their top scorers of all time.

The Bayern striker has scored 17 goals in 30 league matches for the club and after interest from United last summer, according to ESPN, a bid is set to go in to finally get him.

Lewandowski who is an out-and-out striker seems a perfect fit for the Premier League, he only signed for Bayern last summer, but didn’t have a particularly good season so maybe he’d fancy following Schweinstieger to Old Trafford. Still, he’s only 26 and has a long future.
