“My Agent Has Talked To The Club” £100,000-A-Week Star Confirms Discuss With Arsenal

In a not so busy and uneventful summer transfer window for Arsenal, Arsenal fans will be pleased to hear that their forward Theo Walcott is close to signing a new contract with the club. The 26 year old forward who is about to enter his 10th year as an Arsenal player has been stalling on renewing his contract until he had gotten clarity on his future role at the club. Speaking at a press conference after Arsenal’s win against Everton, he said;

“My agent has talked to the club, I enjoy playing for this club so I am just letting them crack on with things and I’ll continue playing football, We’ll just play the waiting game and see what happens but I’m sure it won’t be long. This squad for me,  is one of the best I’ve been involved in. I want to be part of that”.

The 26 year old also feels that Arsenal has what it takes to challenge for major silverware in the coming seasons saying;

“There is something special in this group. We have got to keep this group together as well. I think successful teams stay together for a long time. I think this team can be very successful. Two FA Cups now, the next big step is obviously challenging for that Premier League which, to be honest, if we had our form in the second part of the season it could have been us. But that is the word you don’t want to use in sport. Ifs. We need to make sure we do it from the start.”  

After enduring a difficult start to the season last year the 26 year old ended with 4 goals in his final two matches playing in the main striker role. These are joyful times for Arsenal fans as Walcott is poised to sign a new contract with Arsenal and the possibility of Arsene Wenger bringing in another striker, Arsenal fans can be guaranteed a breakthrough next season.
