“New Zidane” Arrives London, Set To Join Chelsea

This is somewhat unusual about Chelsea, and it seems Jose Mourinho is now ready to give youths a chance to blossom. A report from the Express is saying the Premier League champions have handed a trial to young Olympique Lyonnais sensation Rayan Cherki.

After signing Pedro recently, Chelsea have given Lyon young striker an opportunity to showcase his talents by handing the attacking tyro a trial in their youth team.

However, a report from butfootballclub.fr via Express has claimed Lyon were not aware that their starlet had gone for trial in England. Hence, it is not clear whether Chelsea are really in negotiations with the Ligue 1 side to sign one of their players.

Meanwhile, the Blues are still looking to further strengthen their team and Lyon’s 24-year old striker Alexander Lacazette has also been linked, and with the French footballer booed as he was substituted when Lyon were down 1-2 against Rennes on Saturday, it appears Chelsea have a chance of signing him. But they will have to battle Liverpool and Arsenal for the player’s signature.

Chelsea are also aiming to sign Paul Pogba and there are reports Juventus and the Premier League champions have agreed a £69m fee for the transfer of the powerful midfielder, while Everton’s John Stones is also close to signing as the young defender has made a plea to the Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright to let him leave Goodison Park.

The 21-year old is seen by Mourinho as John Terry’s long term successor and a fourth bid of £40m is believed to be able to tempt Everton into selling Stones after three bids of £20m, £26m and £30m have been rebuffed.
