Paul Pogba Becomes No. 1 Target for Antonio Conte, Chelsea Officially Placed Bid
Chelsea have made Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba their number one transfer target for the summer transfer window. Italian publication Corriere dello Sport has reported that the Blues have once again sent their scouts to watch over the 22-year old.
Earlier reports had reported that Chelsea’s technical director Michael Emanelo watched over Pogba during the Juve’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich. Now the latest report has claimed that Chelsea scouts once again watched over the France international in the Old Lady’s Coppa Italia semi-final with Inter. Chelsea reportedly officially presented their bid to Juventus that day.
Italy national coach Antonio Conte, who has reportedly agreed to take charge at the club in summer, wants Pogba to move to Stamford Bridge along with him. The former Juventus manager played a significant role in Pogba’s development at the Turin club, and he wants to reunite with him in Premier League.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has claimed that he is not interested in a move to Chelsea, and he will be staying with Atletico for foreseeable future.
“This is my place now,” he told Mexican newspaper Record.
“In my career, I was a bit of a nomad, as since I am 20 years old I have been travelling and playing in different places, both as a player and as a coach.
“I always say that your place in the world is where you feel good. You can be in a marvellous place, and feel bad. So obviously that is not your place in the world.”
