Welcome To Manchester – United’s €27m Bid ACCEPTED For 6ft 2in Star

Manchester United may have found a replacement for Madrid-bound David De Gea as reports from Holland suggest. According to the report, United are edging closer to sealing a deal for Jasper Cillessen, Ajax goalkeeper, who is well known to Louis Van Gaal.

De Gea’s insistence on returning to Spain is the main reason for United’s search for a new goalie, which, of course, has led the club to start making inquiries for a couple of other goalkeepers across Europe. His departure is imminent, and not wanting to be caught unaware, the club needs to sign an equally good replacement. Some of the goalkeepers the club has been tracking prior to this report include; Petr Cech of Chelsea, Samir Handanovic of Inter Milan and Hugo Lloris at Tottenham.

While goalkeepers like Hugo Lloris, Peter Cech, and Samir Handanovic are capable replacements for De Gea, it may be slightly difficult getting them easily from their clubs. Cech for instance is said to prefer heading to the Emirates for the fact that his family is settled in London, while Lloris might attract a huge transfer fee considering how difficult it is to deal with Spurs when it comes to transfer.

Cillessen on the other hand may not attract a huge transfer fee, despite being one of the best goalkeepers in Holland. His club, Ajax, might also be easier to do business with considering the cordial relationship that exists between LVG and the management. The Van der Sar factor may also play in United’s favour; which, of course, is a big one to look out for.
